One Week Later

Friday ~ July, 21st, 2006 ~ One Week Later

This picture was taken this morning. I can't believe it has been a week since Ann has passed away and all I can think of is that the NEXT generation...My kids & Nikki's kids...won't get the chance to know her and love her as we were lucky enough to.

Abby here (at left) met her a couple of times and she had fun chatting about all the animals in the house :) Kitties especially! She was also asking me about my earrings this morning. I told her that they had belonged to Ann, Nikki's Mom. When she asked me "Why?" (her favorite question) I started to cry. Abby gave me hug and told me she "Loved" the earrings and decided to wear all turquoise blue today to match them.

Where should I start? I have no idea, because I don't want there to be an end...but there is.

Friday, July 14th, 2006 is a date I will never forget because it meant the end of a life. An end of the life of a beautiful person. Her name was Ann Hitchener and she was the Mother of my best friend, Nicole. Although she wasn't my own Mother, she felt like one to me for SO many reasons and in SO many ways she was like a Mom to me.

I love her dearly & will miss her always.
